So a near-death experience, in the proper meaning of the word, is connected with surviving what is known as clinical death—an emergency state, a life-threatening condition in which the organs begin to stop functioning, but still without irreversible damage to those organs, so that resuscitation could nevertheless succeed. Clinical death is defined by complete circulatory arrest, and hence a lack of pulse, and breathing arrest, but still reversible by means of reanimation. If the latter is not successful, damage to the organs increases and leads to brain death, because the brain is one of the most sensitive organs and it can only resist for a few minutes, and finally biological death, the end of all organ and cell function.

It is a country in which the Muslim religion is widespread, but which was also under atheist influence for about 80 years when it was part of the Soviet Union.
